The Vacancy
What is the role
We have an exciting opportunity for students studying a relevant Fashion degree to join us for a placement year starting July 2026 for one year. The role will be varied with the opportunity to experience a busy, growing, fashion retail head office. The role will support the department with effective management of the department administration and gain a knowledge, understanding and first-hand experience to help put theory into practice.

What you will do
Buying
Communicate with suppliers and internal departments effectively
Ensure all samples are correctly presented, stored and ordered in accordance with departmental procedures, on a day to day basis and for all relevant meetings
Maintain all administration documentation procedures accurately in line with Critical Path requirements
Collate and distribute the post and parcels for the Buying team daily
Contribute towards the input of all meeting preparation including Monday Trade & Product Sign Offs
Merchandising
Assist the team in inputting orders into the central data base as they are raised
Set up new order codes
Create ratios for new orders after reviewing sales history
Review weekly Line Print making suggestions for stock movements and reordering opportunities in reaction to performance
Assist with Flow Line monitoring to ensure that we are never out of stock on these volume selling styles
Preparation of data and information for Range building meetings
Critical path monitoring and updating
Inputting Markdowns and POS promotions onto the tills & the website
Garment Technology
Support the Garment Technology team in producing an accurate sample development process to ensure on time delivery and a commercial range.
Understand and contribute towards brand and product handwriting, review competitor activity (retail & online) and visit stores.
Work to the company critical path to ensure deadlines are met.
Work with Garment Technology team to take joint responsibility for fit and quality, ensuring samples and workbooks are prepared for weekly fit sessions.
Manage the workbook for each product, ensuring garments are measured accurately and in the same way the suppliers are measuring.
Review fit samples to ensure they are fit for production and work closely with suppliers to solve any potential problems that could affect delivery.
Ensure fabric and components performs satisfactorily and pass required tests.
Organise wearer trials on new products where necessary.
Grade garments to fit all sizes and approve to production.
Assist with the QC process. Preparing workbooks prior to delivery ready for Warehouse QC checking.
Communicate clearly to Buying/Garment Tech, Merchandising and Warehouse QC team in a timely manner and potential quality issues.
Print Design
Analysis of 3rd party trend information including a monthly online comp shop.
Contribute and support with administrative tasks, including recolouring existing prints, helping with art working / tech files for prints.
Responsible for designing in house print artwork, creating both placement and all over print designs in conjunction with the Print designer
Creating print design in repeat, scale and with Pantone colour references
Amending purchased or supply base prints to fit into Yours trends and colour palettes
Ability to working to a given design brief by the Buying team
Able to work at a fast-pace and adapt to change
Liaise with other team members to ensure effective communication.
Take responsibility for personal development and actively seek opportunities for improvement
Managing workload and prioritising projects
Think creatively to produce new ideas and concepts
